Note: This camera's battery door slides open very easily. A small piece of tape will correct this but we're discounting the camera to account for this minor flaw.

The circa 1988 Olympus Quick Shooter Zoom (called the AZ-1 Zoom in some areas) is an advanced 35mm point-and-shoot. Here's how the company's literature described it:

"Introducing the Quick Shooter Zoom
It comes with so many standards, everyone else will have to raise theirs.
First of all, in addition to being an autofocus, autoload, auto-everything camera, its 35mm-70mm power zoom lens is integrated with both the viewfinder and the flash to ensure accurate framing and correct lighting in every shot.
And, because the viewfinder magnification level is up to 30% higher than other zoom cameras, it's easier than ever to see exactly what you're shooting.
The Quick Shooter Zoom also sets the highest standards in a flash. Now you can select one of four flash modes.
Whether it be the automatic mode for low light, fill-in for backlit situations, slow-synchro for nighttime or off for no flash at all. As a result, you can precisely control lighting effects in ways previously unavailable with a compact. And all four can be used with the self-timer. That way, you can be in the picture too.
On top of all that, it has even higher standards to meet your more creative goals. Now continuous shooting of action sequences, multiple exposures, macro and even the use of filters are a reality with a compact. Something most people might never expect from a camera in this class. But then, this Olympus is in a class of its own.
The Quick Shooter Zoom. So many features are standard, buying any other zoom camera is not even an option."

Battery information

This camera requires a CRP2 lithium battery (available as an option).

Condition notes

We tested all camera functions with film and batteries installed (the film was not processed) and everything is working well. We verified the camera's film plane focus accuracy on an autocollimator and also its auto-exposure accuracy. Apart from the previously mentioned issue of the battery door opening too easily, the camera is in very good cosmetic condition (see photos). The original manual and a generic case are included.
