The sleek black Minolta Freedom Zoom Explorer (also sold as the Riva Zoom 70W) is our choice for best-looking zoom point-and-shoot of the 1990s.

Appearance aside, this is a quality 35mm camera with a very handy zoom range from 28-70mm. The camera is well appointed with features (including its nice lens with two aspherical elements) and has a very elegant industrial design (the retracting lens cover and swivel-up flash are very retro-futurist).

The camera requires a CR123A lithium battery (optional).

Condition notes
The camera's functions were tested with batteries and a roll of film (the film was not developed). All modes are working correctly. The camera is in excellent cosmetic condition (see photos). We confirmed the film plane focus accuracy using an autocollimator. A Minolta case is included (but in somewhat worn condition).
