Canon Sure Shot Owl 35mm film camera (serial 9541594)
Canon Sure Shot Owl 35mm film camera (serial 9541594)
Released in 1994, the Canon Sure Shot Owl (called the Prima AF-7 in ) is a well-designed compact 35mm camera with a nice, sharp fixed 35mm lens.
Here's the description from The Canon Museum:
"Based on the single-focal-length BF 35 camera, this is an advanced model with 3-step autofocusing with one center point and a near-infrared beam.
The built-in flash has an auto mode as well as an on/off switch. The film transport has also been improved with the film rewind noise level reduced by about half. Also, about 20 percent more rolls of film can be shot with a new set of batteries.
In UK, the camera was called the Prima AF-7."
Battery information
This camera requires two AA alkaline batteries (not included). Rechargeable and lithium AA batteries cannot be used.
Estimated battery life: Canon gives a battery life of 47 24-exposure film rolls per pair of AA batteries. They didn't specify how often the flash was used in their testing; we assume the battery life would be less if the flash were used extensively.
Condition notes
All camera features were tested with a battery and film installed (the film was not developed) and is working great. We verified its autoexposure and autofocus are working with good accuracy. The camera is very good cosmetic condition (see photos) with only minor wear.
