Canon Sure Shot A-1 water-resistant 35mm camera w/ case (serial 8801904)

The Canon Sure Shot A-1 is a rugged, waterproof 35mm point-and-shoot camera. It features a sharp 32mm f3.5 lens and very elegant, intuitive controls. It's a very easy camera to use. Its mode selector dial includes: Full Auto; Force flash (handy for fill-in flash if your subject is backlit); No flash; and dedicated close-up focusing. It also includes a self-timer.  

The Canon Sure Shot A-1 requires a CR123 battery (available as an option).

Note: This manual says this is a waterproof camera and has an 'underwater operation' section but we don't believe it is appropriate to use under water. We suspect that it did not prove reliable for underwater use. When Canon changed the model name from A-1 to WP-1 they changed the macro icon from a fish to a flower (and changed nothing else).

Many people have uploaded underwater pictures taken with the A-1/WP-1 to sites like Lomography and Flickr but our 30-day guarantee will not cover damage from underwater use. After that disclaimer we should add that the Sure Shot A-1 is a wonderful all-weather point-and-shoot and in our view one of Canon's finest cameras from the 1990s. 

Condition notes 

This camera is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. We verfied the exposure and autofocus accuracy. The camera camera comes with its original case.
