Canon AE-1 35mm SLR w/ Canon FD 50mm f1.8 lens + Speedlite 188A flash + original manual (serial 2388361)

Note: A Canon 188A Speedlite is included with this camera. A 'standard' or 'bounce' flash is available in the 'add-ons' section but most people won't need one (unless they'd like a spare flash). 

The Canon AE-1 is one of the most popular 35mm film SLRs of all time. It's an enduring classic camera with plenty of features yet so elegantly designed that it's simple to use.

The AE-1 offers both shutter priority automatic exposure and metered manual exposure modes. The camera requires an LR44 (also called A544 or PX28A) 6 volt battery (optional). 

The included Canon 188A Speedlite is specifically designed for use with A-series Canon SLRs. It offers easy-to-use, fully automatic flash photography (it communicates with the AE-1 to set the appropriate shutter speed an f-stop for you) or can be used in full power manual mode for advanced shooters.   

Condition notes

Both the camera and the included Canon FD 50mm f1.8 lens are in excellent cosmetic condition (see photos) and excellent working order. The original owner babied this camera and it shows very little sign of use. The camera and lens were were tested with film and performed perfectly, delivering sharp, correctly exposed photos. We also verified the camera has very good shutter speed an exposure accuracy. The film advance and release is very smooth (no hint of the 'squeak' noise that sometimes appears with these cameras). The included Canon 188A Speedlite is in very good condition.
