The Sankyo Super LXL 250 is an excellent super 8 camera for low/available light filming. The camera's very fast f1.2 9mm-22.5mm zoom lens is sharp and easy to focus.

The camera works very well with Kodak Vision 3 50D, Kodak Vision 3 200T, Kodak Ektachrome 100D, or Kodak Tri-X. We only recommend Kodak Vision 3 500T if you use an external light meter and set the exposure manually.

Our only (minor) gripe about this camera is that its battery life isn't great so be sure to bring spare batteries if you are shooting a large number of carts (we found that Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries lasted longer than alkalines, particularly in very cold weather).

Requires 4xAA batteries (not included) to power the camera, including the light meter.

Condition notes
We tested this camera and its film motor and iris/lightmeter are functioning correctly (verified using a calibrated light source). The camera is in good cosmetic condition with only minor wear (see photos).
