This Parachute jacket is a piece of Montreal fashion history. founded in 1977 by Nicola Pelly and Harry Parnass, the iconic brand was inspired by the New Wave scene and worn by the likes of David Bowie, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, Duran Duran, as well as underground Japanese fashion. They were known for avant-garde, minimalist, roomy unisex clothing. Check out more images at The McCord Museum's exhibition Parachute: Subversive Fashion of the ‘80s.

This particular jacket is grey-ish blue light cotton with silver snaps. Made Hong Kong.

Sizing

Note: The size tag says "W 2," which is most likely the brand's own sizing numbers, with W referring to women's. Based on the sleeve length, it seems to be women's sizing, but otherwise (like most Parachute styles), the fit is boxy and unisex.

  • chest: 19" across
  • bottom width: 19" across
  • back length: 25.5"
  • sleeve (shoulder to cuff): 20"
  • back shoulder width: 19.25"
