The circa-1990 Nikon N6000 (also called the F-601M) is one of the company's most advanced manual focus cameras.

Here's how it was described by Herbert Keppler in the November 1990 Popular Photography:

"The Nikon N6000 is a logical camera that no one else makes. Many photographers, while deploring autofocus and built-in pop-up flash, don't want to be forced into purchasing a manual-focus camera designed years ago and with none of today's other assets. Such buyers really do want most other modern Nikon conveniences, such as Matrix Metering, exposure bracketing, autoload, and wind and rewind."

The included lens is the versatile and solidly-built Tokina AF 28-70mm 2.8-4.5 with Macro focusing. Our only quibble with this lens is that its zoom ring feel is a bit stiff.

Battery information

This camera requires a CR-P2 lithium battery (available as an option).

Number of film rolls per fresh battery (At 1/125 sec. or faster shutter speed)

36-exposure film rolls at 20°C (68°F): approx. 140
24-exposure film rolls at 20°C (68°F): approx. 210
36-exposure film rolls at -10°C (14°F): approx. 80
24-exposure film rolls at -10°C (14°F): approx. 120

Condition notes

Both the camera and included lens are in very good functional and cosmetic condition. All modes of the camera were tested with a battery and film installed (the film was not developed) and everything works correctly. We verified the camera's shutter speed and auto-exposure accuracy; the 1/2000 shutter speed is running a bit slow (typical), all other speeds show good accuracy.
