Minolta Hi-Matic GF compact 35mm zone focus camera w/ built-in flash
First released in 1982, the Minolta Hi-Matic GF is a simple and very fun-to-use 35mm zone focus camera.
The camera's flash and low light warning button require two AA alkaline batteries (not included).
Here's how the Hi-Matic GF was described in the April 1982 Popular Photography:
Having less sophistication [than the Hi-Matic AF2M] and thus a substantially smaller price ($105)* is the Minolta Hi-Matic GF. It has a built-in, pop-up electronic flash that delivers about 250 flashes with a set of 1.5-volt alkaline cells. Flash-distance ranges are up to 12 ft. with ASA 100 film, 20 ft. with ASA 400. A four-zone. focusing
38-mm lens has an aperture range from f/4 to f/16.
Exposure is controlled by the user via a three-position control to match weather conditions bright sun, hazy sun, and cloudy. A single mechanical 1/125- sec shutter speed is provided. A built-in CdS cell is used to detect when flash is needed and a low-light "use-flash" indicator can be seen in the finder.
* 1982 US dollars, this would translate to about $342 US dollars in 2023.
Condition notes
This camera is in very good cosmetic condition (see photos) and all functions are working correctly.
