The Minolta Freedom Zoom 70c (aka Riva 70c) is an interesting, nicely-designed 35mm zoom point-and-shoot from the early 1990s.

It features a 35-70mm zoom lens with a clever feature called 'automatic standby zoom' where the camera automatically zooms to what it guesses your subject might be when you first put it up to your eye. You can easily override the feature by manually zooming. It also includes handy dedicated 'flash cancel' and 'force flash' buttons.

This camera requires a CRP2 lithium battery (available as an option). The original Minolta case is included (it's a pretty nice case with a snap clasp and suede-like material).

Condition notes

The camera's functions were tested with batteries and a roll of film (the film was not developed). All modes are working correctly. In addition, we verified the camera's film plane focus accuracy on an autocollimator and its exposure accuracy using a shutter tester and calibrated light source. The camera is in excellent cosmetic condition (see photos).
