Canon FTb 35mm film SLR w/ Canon FD 50mm f1.8 lens (serial 451988)

This is a very well preserved example of the venerable mechanical Canon FTb FD-mount SLR. The FTb is one of the great mechanical 35mm SLRs of the early 70s, sitting just below the professional F-1 in Canon's lineup.

The camera was tested with film and performed great. All shutter speeds are very accurate (tested with a shutter analyzer), showing very good curtain speed symmetry. The light meter is working well. The only minor issue is that the 'battery check' switch in not working (this is mostly academic as 675 batteries are designed to maintain stable voltage for their useful life and then go flat very rapidly). 

The included lens is a very sharp Canon FD 50mm f1.8 (all-metal breech lock style). It also includes a beautiful vintage woven strap. 

Battery info

This camera originally used a now-unavailable PX-625 mercury battery but a modern 675 zinc air cell (available as an option) works perfectly.

Condition notes

Both the camera and the lens were tested with film and performed perfectly.  The camera and lens are also in very good cosmetic condition. As mentioned above, the 'battery check' function is not working.
