Best known for making the industry standard small format cinema projectors, Elmo of Japan also built some excellent Super 8 movie cameras like this model. The Elmo Super 306 features a sharp f1.8 8-50mm zoom lens and a very handy twin viewfinder. It offers the normal through-the-lens viewfinder but also a superimposed image rangefinder for critical focusing.

This camera requires 4 AA batteries (not included). The batteries power the film transport and light meter so not additional batteries are required.

    Condition notes
The camera was tested with a film cartridge (though the film was not developed), the film transport is working smoothly both speeds and the light meter is functioning correctly. The camera is in good aesthetic condition except there's some slight shrinkage of the leatherette (see photos); we needed to temporarily remove the leatherette to calibrate the rangefinder and to clean the camera's electrical contacts

    • (1) "this camera is provided with 2 kinds of finder systems: two eyepieces arranged side by side in the eye cup. The left-hand side eyepiece is a single-lens reflex viewfinder through which you can see a fully open shooting frame. The right-hand is a range finder through which you can see only a central part of the subject. When the subject is out of focus, the image looks double. Turn the focusing ring until the double image becomes one." (instructiob manual)
