The Olympus OM-88 (called the M-101 in some countries) is a very capable but quite unusual 35mm film SLR from 1988. The included Olympus PF 50mm f2 lens is very sharp.

The camera has 'power focus' feature where the focus is motorized and you control it using a thumb wheel on the back of the camera. This features is used on PF lenses (like the included 50mm) or AF lenses (which were used with the earlier OM-707). I found the power focus took a while to get used to but I quickly came to enjoy it because, due to its placement behind the shutter, I could keep a very steady grip on the camera; the focus accuracy was excellent on our test film. Traditional Olympus OM lenses also work with this camera but they focus in the normal manner.

The OM-88 has a program and aperture-priority autoexposure modes. The camera also includes the Manual Adapter 2 accessory which permits full manual controls.

The camera requires 4 AAA batteries (not included).

Condition notes
The camera and lens were tested with film and delivered sharp, well-exposed photos. The camera and included Olympus PF 50mm f2 are in very good cosmetic condition as well (see photos).
