"Only the human eye focuses faster".

The Maxxum 7000 was a landmark camera when it was released in 1985--it's was the first truly successful autofocus SLR (previous attempts were goofy hacks). And it's still a fun-to-use and very capable camera today. Style-wise, it represents the high-tech zeitgeist of the mid-1980s (if David Hasslehof pulled a camera out of K.I.T.T.'s glove compartment in "Knight Rider"--it surely would've been a Maxxum 7000).

The camera takes Minolta A mount lenses which continue to be used in today's Sony Alpha DSLRs (Sony ended up buying Minolta's camera technology). This particular example (serial number 14016493) is one of the rarer 'crossed x' versions (Exxon sued Minolta over this). It comes with a powerful Minolta AF 2800 flash (guide number 92ft@ISO 100, supports TTL exposure, and provides low-light auto-focus assistance) with its case and a Minolta AF 28mm f2.8 lens (5 elements in 5 groups). This wide angle lens is ideal for street photography. The camera is powered by four AAA batteries (not included); the flash is powered by four AA batteries (also not included).

Condition notes
This Maxxum 7000 and the included lens and flash were tested with film and performed superbly. All shutter speeds are working with good accuracy. The camera's LCD display has blackened along its borders (see photos, this is a very, very common occurrence with these cameras) but all the modes are still readable. The camera's internal lithium battery was recently changed and should last for another 10 years. The included lens is in very good condition but the rubber trim has white discoloration (an almost universal aesthetic flaw with Minolta lenses of from this era).

Options
If you choose '+ film' you'll also get a 24 exposure roll of Fujicolor 200 film.
