This is a nice find: an unused* Minolta film camera still in its box. The original battery and strap and are still sealed in plastic.
*Well, technically we did test it to confirm it is still working well.
The Minolta Freedom Zoom 70 Date (aka Riva Zoom 70 Date) is a good quality point-and-shot 35mm camera from the 1990s with a better-than-typical zoom lens (thanks in part to its inclusion of an aspherical lens element).
This camera requires a CR123 lithium battery. We tested it with a fresh battery (the still-sealed original battery is probably no longer good). A fresh CR123 battery is available as an option. The original date imprinting battery is still OK.
Condition notes
The camera's functions were tested with a battery (again, not the original one, which is probably expired) and a roll of film (the film was not developed). All modes are working correctly. We verified the film plane focus accuracy and sharpness on an autocollimator. The camera is in basically new cosmetic condition (see photos) as it was never used. The original case a mild "vintage" odor from storage. The original box is somewhat worn.
